Over in [info]cat_lovers (Yes, [info]cat_lovers wank. Who knew?) [info]ibritt posts a series of pictures making it appear that President Obama is throwing a snowball at a cat.

It's worth a giggle, except to [info]_magicsocks , who "fail[s] to see the humor in that", along with an icon about abusing stupidity.

She couldn't careless what other people think of her.

She's done (done, I say!) with the chat. So if you don't hear from her, that's why! (JSYK)

But she's not a drama queen - she deleted a bunch of comments. Not in the thread - in her email.

The best part though isn't when she flounces: "But after the crap that took place in this community over something stupid and some kept it going. I could have understood it if it was about being mean to a cat or something like that. But it was a simple misunderstanding. I won't be in a community like that."

It's when she flounces and comes back to comment more! (Be on the lookout for hilarious malapropism, and calling of the "grammer police")

You see, she didn't think it was a fake picture! Luckily, she has an advocate in nutbar lil_goldielocks. She's an animal lover and KNEW it was fake and STILL didn't find it funny!

Over in [info]aramatheydidnt, a Japanese pop culture community, an entry about how over 40% of Japanese people see no need to have children brought in a whole lot of stupid.

First we have some relatively tame stupid from [info]mele_3_4 who doesn't quite understand how birth-rates relate to immigration. We can accept that, maybe she just hasn't read a whole lot of books with words in them.

Things get interesting when [info]nymphetamosa reckons Aboriginal Australians should just "get over" the British taking their lands because it happened such a very long time ago. But it gets worse when she suggests that Aboriginal Australians should be thankful for colonialism, I mean now they even have electronics, communication and societal marginalisation. There's a glass ceiling above me but at least I have an iPod!

In an [info]ontd_political post about a Bank of America employee who was apparently fired for leniency in regards to persons having trouble paying back their credit card bills and such, member [info]vodkabeforenoon takes it upon herself to enlighten us as to how persons ALWAYS come to be in such dire straights:

"...no one forced those people to get credit cards. People live beyond their means and then get upset when banks are making a profit from their bad choices. It is stupid."

Even after it is pointed out to vodkabeforenoon that things like huge and unexpected interest jumps, medical emergencies and job loss, and pure bullshit happens, and cannot be prevented or predicted, she continues to just not get it.

A few choice quotes include this one, coming in response to struggles resulting from spouses dying or becoming seriously ill:

"Shit happens. No reason to be pissed off at a corporate. It is not like they do not forewarn you."

And the brilliant observation that FOOD STAMPS FIX EVERYTHING! STOP CRYING AND GO GET SOME!

Thank you vodkabeforedawn for teaching us that shit is always your fault, even when you don't plan for it, even when you are a responsible person, and even when the most ugly tragedy strikes. BOOTSTRAPS, Y'ALL! NEVER FORGET!

A post is made with a video of Portia De Rossi on The View. Elisabeth Hasselbeck asks about whether or not "the word [marriage] is more important than the rights". Portia "explained that a 'lesser' term would imply that gay couples are lesser".

The comments are mostly unsurprising for ONTD. However, [info]hoodiefan says that Hasselbeck has a point and predictably starts up a little shitstorm. The real stupid is this comment though:

"It just seems like a huge waste of time and resources for gay activists to be focused on getting to use ~a word~ when there are actual human rights issues at stake, like the fact transgendered people often times can’t even find work, have medical coverage ETC but lets focus on the word so portia and ellen and other rich gays can have bridal registries, etc etc"

Consensus is not stupid. Sorry.

Over in [info]equestrian a rather cool video is posted (cool for those who like horses, at least) about a horse doing at liberty work (read: not tied to anything or anyone) and going over an obstacle course very similar to what one might find at a dog agility competition.

Most of the comments are along the lines of "Wow cool!" until [info]wagrobanite enters the scene and decides that the video is "not really like canine agility" at all and refuses to see the similarities insisting that because she has competed in the sport for years she is TEH EXPERT in all things agility. And proceeds to split hairs, refusing apparently, to recognize that horses would be incapable of performing on a dog agility course.

[info]hydrogen_atom tries to be helpful by providing a definition of agility from an agility association website but [info]wagrobanite insists that there's more to agility than just that.

As added lulz, [info]silverblaidd utterly misses [info]harnessphoto's sarcasm

Lemon pancakes with bacon

These are my absolute favourite pancakes! They are very delicate and touchy to make; they have a tendency to stick to pans and burn if you aren't hovering over them the whole time. Totally worth all the effort, though.

Here's the recipe!
